This privacy policy applies to the website travelexpress.ch and is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Summary

We do not use cookies, advertising networks or tracking profiles. We do not store your searches. When you start a search, you are forwarded to a partner who processes your booking under their own privacy policy.

3. Hosting and server log files

Our website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, Genf, Schweiz. Each time you visit, the server technically processes the IP address, date and time, requested page, referrer and browser type. This data is required for secure operation, is not combined with other data and is deleted after 14 days at the latest. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; Art. 31 FADP).

4. Web analytics with Umami

We use Umami, an open-source analytics tool, provided by Umami Cloud (Umami Software, Inc.). Umami does not set cookies and does not create user profiles. The anonymous statistics may be processed outside Switzerland and the EU. IP addresses are not stored; visits are counted anonymously. We use the statistics solely to improve our website. Legal basis: legitimate interest. Umami respects the “Do Not Track” setting of your browser.

5. Google Search Console

We use Google Search Console to analyse how our website appears in Google search results. No Google code is loaded on our website and no data about your visit is transmitted to Google. The website ownership is verified by a meta tag.

6. Search and forwarding to partners

When you submit a search form, the details you entered (e.g. destination, dates, number of travellers) are processed by our server only to build the link to the partner and are not stored. You are then forwarded to the partner’s website. From that point, the partner is responsible for data processing. Partners and the affiliate network Travelpayouts may use cookies on their own websites to attribute bookings to us. Please refer to the privacy policies of our partners: Aviasales, Discover Cars, Omio, Klook, Go City, Tiqets, KKday, Saily, Yesim, Travelpayouts.

7. Airport search (autocomplete)

When you type an airport or city, the entered text is sent to our server, which queries the Travelpayouts autocomplete service. Your IP address is not passed on.

8. Cookies and partner searches

We do not set any cookies ourselves. Some searches (flights and hotels, car rental, trains) are provided by Travelpayouts and its partners (Aviasales, Discover Cars, Omio). They are only loaded after you agree in the notice shown on your first visit. Only then is data such as your IP address and browser information transferred to these providers, which may also set cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser (local storage) and can be changed at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of each page. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

9. Disclosure abroad

Some of our partners are located outside Switzerland and the EU/EEA. Data is only transferred when you actively start a search and are forwarded to the partner. The partner is responsible for appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

10. Your rights

You have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. To exercise your rights, contact us at info@travelexpress.ch. You can lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or a data protection authority in the EU.

11. Changes

We may amend this privacy policy at any time. The version published on this website applies.
